Meet Lucy

Lucy D’Aponte

Physical Therapist, Yoga Therapist, Ayurvedic Educator 

Lucy began her passion for movement and the human body as a dancer in her native New York City. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College with a major in dance and then performing with The Angela Caponigro Dance Ensemble, she returned to school and received her Master of Science in Physical therapy from Long Island University.  

Lucy has over 20 years of experience and has worked in multiple healthcare settings, offering her services to infants in the NICU, children in schools, geriatrics in subacute facilities and athletes, dancers and healthcare providers in outpatient settings.  

Lucy is a certified yoga teacher, a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) What does this mean?, and a certified Ayurvedic educator. Lucy is a lifelong learner and participates in ongoing continuing education in trauma healing, pain management, Ayurvedic sciences, orthopedic and dance rehab training and yoga philosophy. She considers herself a student of life and has immense appreciation for her teachers and clients past and present, who have and continue to teach her so much.

Lucy loves to spend time with her family and friends, dance in her kitchen, laugh, be outside whenever possible, garden and eat good food.

I have had the privilege to study and work as a yoga and physical therapist.
